Consumer Advocate

Cherie Steinkamp is a graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area Senior High School and a graduate of DuBois Business College with an Associate Degree in Specialized Business, Executive Assistant.

Cherie began working at United Electric Cooperative in May 1994.  As Engineering Secretary, Cherie performed secretarial duties for United's Engineering, Operations and Forestry Departments.  Currently Cherie holds the position of Operations and Metering Supervisor. 

In 1997 Cherie assumes the position of Consumer Advocate.  This position allows for members to call with issues they feel are unresolved or additional concerns relating to right of way procurement, power quality, outage and restorations, and concerns regarding cooperative uniform rules.  Cherie reports directly to the President and CEO, Brenda Swartzlander and represents the interests of the members before the Board of Directors and the Public Utility Commission.
