We would like to congratulate these students on being selected to represent United Electric Cooperative at the 2011 Youth Tour to Washington, DC.  The Youth Tour is a valuable and exciting learning experience, which provides juniors in high school the chance to meet other students from all over the country for a tour of our nation’s capitol.

United Electric has been sending students to Washington, DC for many years. This trip is, indeed, a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain valuable knowledge through historical site seeing and experiencing firsthand how part of the legislation process functions.  It will also provide an understanding of electric cooperatives locally, as well as through our statewide and national associations.

On behalf of the United Electric Board of Directors and myself, I want to wish the Youth Tour students a safe and enjoyable trip.
